We see quite a few recommendations, mostly from outside North Carolina, recommending very high levels of fertility for specific nutrients for hemp production. Calcium and phosphorus are the most common nutrients sometimes recommended at high rates. This article by faculty from the Horticulture Department at NC State University explains why over applying one nutrient can cause problems with other nutrients. It also explains why we do not recommend additional phosphorus applications during flowering.
